Welcome
Welcome to the team.
The Kent eVent Team is a partnership between Kent County Council and the voluntary sector in Kent, aimed at recruiting volunteers for events and one-off sport, leisure and cultural activities across the county.
In the Amazing Summer of 2012 we supported the Olympic Torch Relay & associated events, Kent Games Time Greeters and the Paralympic Road Cycling Volunteering at Brands Hatch.
The project is managed and run by Voluntary Action Maidstone.
Volunteers
By the end of 2012, over 2500 volunteers make up our team, and we have an additional 300 people who recieve our regular e-newsletter.
Team members come from across Kent, with a spectrum of skills and abilities, and they are offered the chance to volunteer at a wide range of exciting events. The flexibility of the scheme allows people to get involved in a variety of events and no 2 days are ever the same.

The benefits to event organisers
Anyone organising an event in the voluntary, community or statutory sector in Kent (any event that is not for profit) is able to register and make a request for volunteers, as long as the event meets the basic requirements, for example in health and safety.
The outcome should be more successful and effective events, due to the increased support from a volunteer workforce.
The legacy of 2012 Olympic Games
2012 proved to be the most exceptional and exciting year for us so far. The success of all the Volunteering efforts give us a great platform to welcome in 2013.
The need for volunteers continues and new events are coming in all the time, we are very happy to be part of the legacy of the 2012 Games and supporting events here in Kent.
