Keep on track with the Thanet Sport Relief Mile

The Thanet Mile requires volunteers to support and help with the following roles and responsibilities to ensure that the ‘Thanet Mile’ runs smoothly and safely.  The ‘Thanet Mile’ event is about ensuring that the community and participants involved’ have fun.

 

Please find below ‘Thanet Mile’ Volunteer Roles;

 

 

Event Stewards

 

-Supervising the Car park area to ensure that the area is operated safely and effectively

 

-Working on all aspects of the grounds areas to ensure that members of the public are kept safe and aware of any information required.

 

-Crowd control

 

-Acting as runners for event management team

 

-Ensuring that the course is kept safe (This role may involve some physical work, as we will be required to set up equipment before and after the event starting)

 

Checkpoint Marshalls

 

-Working on the start and finish of the track to ensure that runners are aware of the event layout and laps remaining.

 

-Ensuring the runners are organised at the start of there run, ensuring that they are at the correct check point.

 

-Ensuring that each runner has the correct number to collate with the course that they are running.

 

-To provide information and support for all participants involved on the day.

 

-The operation of stopwatches and time clock

 

-Providing refreshments and water for participants involved
