National Beach Volleyball Championships - Margate
Volunteer at a National Sports event… and spend a day at the beach!
The National Beach Volleyball Championships is coming to Margate in June.
The event gives volunteers an opportunity to volunteer at a high level sports event .
This is the third year the event will be held in Kent.
The top beach volleyball players will be heading for Margate to take part in the Volleyball England Beach Tour. The Venue has been selected as a possible pre-games training camp for the London 2012 Olympics so it is sure to be a spectacular event.
Schools competition & coaching – Friday 26 June
Main competition – Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 June
On Margate Main Sands,
Interested in supporting this event? You could get involved as a Steward, Ball boy/girl, Line Judge or Scorer/Administrator.
Volunteers are needed between 8am and 6pm on Saturday and Sunday and 11- 3pm on the Friday.
You can choose to volunteer for half a day (8-1 or 1-6) or a whole day or the whole weekend
For further information on the above roles please get in touch, we will then send you further info and tell you how you can get involved.
No specific skills are required and full training will be given, though it is beneficial to have an interest in sport.
Scorers/administrators would benefit from having a basic awareness of scoring and tournament formats however again full training can be provided.
A training session is offered on Saturday 6th June 1pm – 4pm
Volunteers will be provided with a kit to wear on the day and are invited to attend a tournament party on the Saturday after play finishes.
