General Event Volunteer
The second Kent School Games, the largest school sport competition in the UK and possibly Europe, was launched week beginning 28 September 2009.
Planning is well underway for the 2010 Kent School Games which is to involve 12 NEW sporting activities not competed in at the first Games, as well as five demonstration sports that will include Cheerleading, limited overs Cricket, and Rock Climbing. With a total of 38 sporting activities the event has expanded enormously since the 2008 Games!
Finals events will begin the week commencing 7th June 2010 and run through until Sunday 4th July 2010, comprising 10 exciting event days that will use 13 excellent venues. It is estimated that 6,000 competitors will attend the Kent School Games Finals days in 2010.
The Kent School Games consists of three distinct competitions:
- Primary School Games
- Disability Games
- Secondary School Games

The Role

The Event Managers are seeking support in the delivery of the event engaging in a range of tasks for the delivery of a major sports event.
The Person
Have you ever aspired to be an Event Manager?
This role will place you as front of house personnel who meet the teams, team managers and spectators as well as VIP’s, venue managers and fellow staff. You need to be a good communicator, hard working, able to work under pressure and as part of a team, acting professionally at all times.
The volunteer roles will provide an overall event management experience covering key areas such as information points, sports delivery, welfare, servicing sponsors, logistic management, car parking and customer service. Ultimately your role is to ensure that the event is delivered at your venue. All individuals will be rotated during their volunteer session to give an overall experience. You need to be available all day i.e. from 8.30am – 5pm.
